What we're about

Kulanu Toronto ("All of us" in Hebrew) is the city's main Jewish LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans) social, educational, and cultural group.

Our community includes people of various Jewish affiliations, from secular to Orthodox. Our events include Shabbat dinners, Purim parties, Chanukah Parties, Passover seders, Holocaust Education Week programs, LGBTQ+ speed dating, pub nights, potlucks and games nights, speaker events, marching in Toronto’s Pride Parade, and marching in the Dyke and Trans marches.

Friends and allies are always welcome at our events.

History

Kulanu Toronto was founded in the fall of 2000 by students and Hillel staff at the University of Toronto. It continues an extensive tradition of queer Jewish programming in Toronto, beginning in 1975 with Hamishpacha, Congregation B’nai Kehilla, Chutzpah (1982-1991), Nice Jewish Girls, and Congregation Keshet Shalom (1991-2001).
